| Stage 5 is Proud to announce that it is about to produce a NEW play by local Columbia playwright Morgan E. Sullivan titled "An Eclipse of Sanity" in the Spring of 2012. Currently the play is schedule for February 2012. This is a play about the "new" science and protocol surrounding "Genes" and "Body Parts Harvesting". Michael Bailey, Artistic Director of Stage 5 Theatre, was impressed with the outline and overview of what Morgan sent to him. Michael established a working group, to read the script and to assist in the character development within Morgan's play. As a result, Morgan has accomplished a great deal with the play and she feels it will be in it's final version by late Fall. Stage 5 and Michael expect to begin auditions and rehearsals in January 2012. This play is about current and future events in the medical and legal fields, pertaining to how death is looked at, and how we, those who are left behind, are to mourn the loss of a loved one. What would you do if burials were the thing of the past? What would you do if you knew that you were monitored, health wise, every hour of every day of your life? What do you do if your fiancé died on the day you were to marry him or her? How do you move forward if you don't have closure? How far would you go to acquire something to bury? What would you do, if you knew someone who received one or more body parts that were "harvested" from your deceased loved one and you had no say in the matter? What are "harvested" body parts worth? How much should the family receive as a result of "harvesting" the loved ones body parts? These are few of the questions Morgan's play will try to answer, or at least get the audience to ponder? You need to see this play. |
